It’s been awhile… A lot of things happened for the past few months and I owe my tumblr site a lot! So, I started working at The Fairmont Hotel here in Dubai in January, moved to a new and much better home, got tied to a lot of Guest Service Trainings a few months after, been trained to do Data Administration work as part of my job description, gone through a roller-coaster type of schedule, met new colleagues, and worked diligently 6 days a week! Whew! That’s quite it and the best news is…..I’M BACK! Wooohooo! :)

I definitely love making one! This is one of those stuff I sometimes do during idle days. This one here is my most (or one of my most) favorite of all because it features UAE’s most prominent landmarks. These photos were all taken in 2011 and I personally chose each one of them to be in this cool collage! Hope you like it! :)

If you have tried living in another country even for at least 6 months, you can definitely say without doubts and hesitations, “IT IS MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES!”

I truly support this program! This is, so far, the best campaign of the Department of Tourism to promote the Philippines. And I firmly believe that now is the best time to make our country be known for its many positive qualities. Let’s all be one for this campaign!

What 2011 has taught me...

As 2011 ends, I have come to know a lot of things about myself after browsing my journal. Gladly, I have come up with the topmost 10 lessons below.

I HAVE LEARNED and REALIZED that…

1.) Leaving a loved one behind to search for better career opportunities in a foreign land is the most painful SACRIFICE we can ever do.

2.) If we don’t go for what we want, we can never have it. Taking chances and fighting for what we really LOVE is never a mistake.

3.) It’s okay to cry buckets of tears when life becomes hell. But at the end of the day, we have to make a choice and that is to BE HAPPY.

4.) FRIENDS are people who we may not see often but still gives us the feeling that they’re always there. And the fact is, there are just a few of them and we have to keep them in our hearts forever.

5.) Our SIBLINGS are our best link to the past and the ones who are most likely to stick with us in the future. We have to treasure them.

6.) Taking pictures is one of the best ways to keep wonderful MEMORIES.

7.) Other people’s LIFE, CHOICES, and MISTAKES is never our business.

8.) There’s always a reason why things happened the way they should be. All we have to do is face the REALITY.

9.) As a PARENT, while we try to teach our kids about life, we also realize that they also teach us what life is all about.

10.) Nothing beats being POSITIVE and that we should always believe that something wonderful is about to happen anytime.

Wishing you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! May we have a much better year ahead! Let’s rock 2012! :)

My topmost favorite Christmas song is this. It makes me realize that as we grow up, we no longer ask for things that will only bring us temporary happiness. Instead, we pray for Good Health, Peace of Mind, Contentment, Healthy Relationships with Family and Friends, Eternal Bliss, Love, and etc. This season, I wish that we may have everything we need and that we make this a perfect moment to share with our loved ones.

Being with you is the most perfect Christmas moment I can only wish of right now. My Christmas memories when i was a kid were all wonderful not because of the nice presents, but because I was with my parents. Now that we’re a million miles apart, I can’t help but shed buckets of tears. As much as I want to make this season meaningful for you, I’m terribly sorry if I wasn’t able to make it. Heaven knows how much I wanted to be with you now. I know that those presents can never equate my presence. Let’s Go Old School!

I’m jobless for more than a month now. The real story for that is too long that I’d rather not talk about. So, today is one of those days when you become instantly bored at home because you don’t find anything amusing to do. I rummaged my old wallet and look what I found! It’s my NASO ID Card! This is definitely the oldest ID Card I have in my wallet! Take note: it’s already 12 years old! Could you believe that?! :)

28 Sept 2011 - It’s a day after my 29th birthday! Cris took me to a birthday treat at Wild Wadi Waterpark in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The rides were extremely exhillarating! You’d surely love to try that!

But nothing is more extremely exhillirating than this video! As part of his birthday gift for me, he gladly grooves to the tune of Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never! Thanks Dad, you never fail to entertain me!

I’ll be posting a separate article about our Wadi Adventure on this site, soon. So keep posted!

08 April 2011. Ahhh…Thank God it’s Friday and that means my sis Ruth and the rest of our housemates are free from work! It was my 2nd week in Dubai and our housemate Tim, invited us to join his sister’s birthday picnic. Off we went to Al Mamzar Park and Open Beach. The park covers an area of more than a hundred hectares and offers barbecue sites, private chalets for rent, swimming pool, food kiosks, sheltered beach and safe lagoon, a scenic train and many play areas for kids. It is located approximately 5 kms. after the turn off Hamriya Port. The place has a vast space and unique location on the golden powdery sand beach. Now, I’d love to share you the photos! Enjoy!

People really do change. I admit, I’m one of those people who has transformed after many years of living in this crazy but happy world.

Now I’ll give you one word… TATTOO…

Yes, I’m getting one before this year ends! After more than 10 years of careful thinking, I finally came to a decision of getting inked despite the pain.

It was just yesterday that I came across a pretty picture of a pink flower in www.google.com. I instantly fell in love with its simple design. For several months, I’ve already been thinking of having a script text of my daughter’s name for a design but seeing the pink flower got me even more excited! I’m still not sure which part of my body am I going to put it though, rest assured, I’m definitely having it on!

So now, the design is ready…But where can I find a good tattoo artist here in UAE? Hmmmmm…

Living in the Middle East is such a big transition for me. From a country (the Philippines) with only 2 seasons, wet and dry, the Arab climate and environment has brought me a lot of new and exciting experiences. So, I arrived in Dubai, UAE on the last week of March 2011. When I came here, the weather was very good yet as it was still the end of Winter. July came and I found it quite unbearable. The temperature reached almost 50 degrees Celcius and everytime I go to work in the morning, the painful rays of the sun is directly shining at me as I’m on the front seat of our company van. Well, I survived it! Congratulations to me! And now, October is here. The pictures above shows a new scene for me. It’s a very foggy Monday morning! I can’t believe it! Winter is finally here and this is my first time to see fogs all over the place! And suddenly, Dad (it’s Cris, my BF) called me on the phone to tell me about the fog and all, and that he felt very cold, and that he can’t see the building next to theirs. Hehehe! Now, that explains my first “climate switch” experience! Can’t wait to see the snow! I’ll surely post pictures of it too! Ciao!
